Beer Festival 2017...

This years Beer Fest was earlier than previous years, choosing to host it in July rather than the Bank Holiday (when theres so many conflicting events in the County!) was a great decision. We chose only Pembrokeshire Ales and Ciders to showcase what the county has to offer, and it was a great selection from 4four Brewery, Mantle, Tenby, Harbwr and Bluestone. On the Friday we had Mansel and the Fridge re-join us for another fantastic night of entertainment that went well in to the night! Saturday we saw the return of the Freewheelers, great music whilst all drank and dined. Sunday was a relaxed event with Local girl Rosey Cale captivating us for the afternoon. Now to plan the next Festival for 2018!!

June 2017...

Summer is upon us and we finally have new benches in the Beer Garden!
We are looking forward to our first Summer Beer Festival in July, replacing the usual Bank Holiday Fests with 10 Ales all from West Wales, 4 local Ciders , BBQ and Live Music from “Mansel Davies” on the Friday and the “Freewheelers” on the Saturday, with a possible surprise on the Sunday.
We have extended our Real Ale offering recently, so in addition to the 3 pumps we now have around 12 other Bottled Beers to try, most from local breweries such as Mantle, Bluestone, 4Four, Harbwr and Tenby Brewing Co., there really is something for everyone.
We were recently nominated for the Food Awards Wales where we were Runners Up in the Gastro Pub Category, not bad! The menu now changes weekly so be sure to check in to see what’s on offer and all of our Specials listed below are available any night, Wednesday to Saturday.

Its been a while...

Its been a long time since we've posted whats been going on! Sorry, its easy to forget to blog and keep on top of social media! Well Christmas has been and gone, it was all over in a flash and now summer is almost upon us, if only the weather would be kind. Not enjoying these April HAIL showers!! The folk night and quiz nights are a great success and if you haven't been to one yet... you must! We've had more music this year from Paul and Mansel, we are hoping Mansel will come again just for the love of the music! Watch out for more Pop-up music nights, these are very last minute hence pop-up! Food is looking amazing and as a result we have been selected as finalists for the Food Awards Wales, set to be announced at the end of May, fingers crossed and mouths open. Plans are now in motion for this years Beer Festival to take place in July at the beginning of the summer holidays, looking forward to a good old session! watch this space for more in 2017 and we'll try to blog more often!

Summer has passed and we welcome the Autumn...

We have had a fantastic Summer at the Plash!! We've got new locals that have moved in and we've said good bye to some lovely characters (they've not moved too far not to pop in for a drink now and again!) Beer Festival was excellent, even with Jackie's 50th up the hill! now the autumn is upon us it's time to look forward to some spooky antics and things may go off with a bang (or two!!) then before you know it'll be Christmas!!!

11 Years Have Passed!..

We celebrated our 11th year Anniversary on the 18th August and for the first time it landed on a Quiz night! We have had some fantastic times with people that have frequented the Plash, leaving us with great memories and interesting stories to share, so with 46 glasses of champagne we toasted to the last 11 years of excellent real ales and excellent customers! CHEERS! We now look forward to the next however more years of our time at the Plash! What will ever happen next?...

Wine Tasting Evening...

Thank you to all that came to our second annual wine tasting evening. We truly appreciate your (honest!) opinions and this has now reflected to what wines we have chosen to stock at the Plash! It was a great evening had by all with a choice of 14 different wines from Romania to Corsica (one of the best of the night!!) followed by a delicious 2 course meal that really complimented the wines! We look forward to planning (trip to Tanners) for next year!

A new feature to the Plash calendar... STORY TELLING!!

We were approached by one of our locals, who asked us "Have you heard of Story Telling?" Our response was "No.." He told us about this massive underground event where Story Telling, one of the oldest forms of entertainment was bursting out into West Wales. So after extensive research and finding the right story tellers for the night, we decided to go for it! it was something we have never done before and everyone has a story or two to share... We had our first event on the 24th March (tuesday) and what a turn out! Nick Brunger was our main Teller and compere for the night, his stories were dark, mysterious and magical. You can see him in action on the Carmarthen Spooky Tours from Guildhall Square and hopefully a regular of the Plash events! We also had Lindsay Halton's debut appearance, great teller of local history and the beasts that wandered the lands around the Taf! Finally, a legend of the area, Len Shipton! Captivating and using his knowledge of West Wales and the people of the Plash, a great collection of stories were told!! A brilliant night was had by all (we hope!) and we look forward to hearing more and more stories in the future.

If you wish to find out more about story telling and you have a few stories that you want to share, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will endevour to feature you in the coming months! NEXT STORY TELLING NIGHT: TUESDAY 19th May 2015

Already into a New Year...

and we have January under our belt (that went quick!!) What a brilliant Christmas and New Year had by all and the events over the festivities were well supported, THANK YOU!! now we look on to 2015 and there is lots of plans for some great events and even some new ideas, watch this space for Beer Festivals to our newest idea of Story Telling!!

MacMillan Coffee Morning...

What a fantastic coffee morning hosted at The Plash. With plenty of cakes and the new addition of Savouries (favourites was the scotch eggs and the cheesy muffins...yumm!) The raffle was a great success with Dennis the Auctioneer! Over £680 raised on the day and that's not all... We will be hosting a Charity Auction on the 31st October to raise more funds towards this amazing charity! See you all there from 6.30pm

August Bank Holiday Beer Festival...

What a Bank Holiday!! The sun was shining (for most of it!!) beer was flowing and everyone was enjoying themselves. We aimed to localise our guest ales to South Wales and Carmarthenshire so we had, Mumbles Breweries; Mumbles Mile, Tomos Watkins; Cwrw Haf, Coles; Llanddarog Ale, Handmade Brewery; Welsh Gold and the most popular Kites; Dr Prices Lemon Ale (Very fruity!!) Hywel and Ciera from the 1st Narberth Scouts returned to do the BBQ and raised over £100 for their World Jamboree Trip to Japan next year ( well done to both!) Will Scott returned on the Sunday to entertain us again as we enjoyed his performances 10 years ago at our first festival and last spring, new to the line up was a very sparkly Rebecca Jones, cracking voice and the locals loved the dress!

Next years festivals will be on the May and August Bank Holidays, so watch this space for more details...

Almost 10 Years...

We,Steve and Christie will be celebrating 10 years at the Plash from 18th August! We have had a fantastic time here at the Plash and we look forward to many years to come...

Llanfallteg Fete and Show 2014...

What a fantastic community event involving everyone that really appreciates what a wonderful place we live in!!! The kids on the water slide, dunking stall (well more Ellen than anyone else, we think she appreciated a refreshing dip in the summer sun!) and the sweetie stall and the parents sipping on tea and munching the delicious home made scones it was brilliant. The raffle was a great success raising nearly £700 and £300+ on the gate (that's alot of people!) and the auction held in The Plash Inn in the evening, despite a power cut for most of the day and just coming on in the nick of time, we raised £1017 which is fantastic boost for the playing field. Towards the end of the evening we could finally rev up the kitchen and get cooking and with over 25 covers with less that an hours service time to go it was a great performance of what the Plash can do. we do enjoy supporting our community and we hope they support us too! Looking forward to next years Fete and Show!

Whitsun Beer Festival...

Fancy a pint of real Welsh ale... well on the whitsun bank holiday we will be host to our first Beer Festival of the Year. With 7 different Welsh ales on tap all within Wales, making it our first ever Welsh only Beer Festival! 2 ciders locally sourced and a roaring BBQ on the go, entertainment will be going on throughout the weekend but more relaxed than previous years, its a perfect weekend to spend time with friends and family enjoying the delightful ales of local Breweries in a fantastic, welcoming pub!! Watch this space for more details on exactly which ales will be on!

The BBQ will be ran this festival by 1st Narberth Scouts to raise funds for the World Jamboree 2015 in Japan as they have "Howard" and "Bob" that have been selected to attend, which is an opportunity of a lifetime for them. Well done both for being selected and get raising funds!!

Also, Llanfallteg Community Association will be holding a Duck Race on the River from 3pm, so why not buy a duck, and watch it win with a pint or two!!

Mothers Day 2014...

Our special offer to all the yummy mummies this year is, a FREE glass of bubbly, dessert and flowers when you dine. We serve food all day so why not treat that wonderful woman to a Plash treat! Book now to avoid disappointment.

Sweet Valentines

It was lovely to see so many lovers enjoying and celebrating Valentines Day this year! with a full restaurant love was truly in the air. All the ladies fet truly spoilt so there was lots of brownie points earned that night and plenty for Christie in the kitchen doing such a wonderful job. Lets hope love continues to be around...

Happy 2014, goodbye 2013!...

What a wet (very wet! ) Christmas. now the flood water has receded and the decorations have come down, we would like to thank all that joined in with our festive events, The Robin red kites for winning the Christmas Quiz, the handful of singers and Reg on the Carol Night (it was an awful, wintry night) and to Les beating the landlord in the Turkey Shoot! Christmas Day was a fabulous day, bustling with lots of locals enjoying the Christmas cheer. New Years Eve was great with a hive of activity up until 10pm then we were left with the old faithful's to see in the new year!

We have lots of ideas for the new year, with quizzes returning, Valentine's Day special menu, a change of menu in June and a few more ideas in the making. We look forward to seeing you all in 2014!

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat...

Now that Christmas is coming, the tree is up, lights are twinkling and the aroma of Steve's Mince Pies lingering in the pub, the festive events are done, checked, booked, and double checked so they go off with out a glitch! See below for what's on, when and what you have to do!!

Christmas Opening Hours are as follows: Christmas Eve (tuesday) noon - 11pm, Christmas Day (Wednesday) noon - 2pm, Boxing Day (Thursday) noon - 11pm, New Years Eve (Tuesday) noon- late, New Years Day (Wednesday) noon - 11pm

Winter is upon us...

Even though its October and its glorious sunshine and 17 degrees, planning has started for the festive period. With Halloween and Guy Fawkes on the horizon hosting our spectacular Fireworks Display on the 5th November, we now follow our very own traditions that night with the whole community joining in the celebrations! Then we turn to Christmas!! Plenty of festive frolics and fun to look forward to and then a real christmas spirited Christmas Day opening for Drinks 12-2pm! A must for the locals new and old! New Years Eve should be an interesting night with the suggestion of a Pyjamas themed Fancy Dress with old school Games, we shall see on that one! Then once into 2014 we shall be looking into what the spring has to offer!

MacMillan Coffee Morning - A fantastic Success!!

Just a HUGE thank you to everyone that donated a cake (all delicious, we know as we tasted them all!) supported us on the day and to all that organized the whole event. We raised a staggering £1,077.00!! We are glad that the money raised will be going to a fantastic Charity. Next years planning is underway and lets hope we can raise more!

Another Summer Gone.. well the Holidays!

The summer holidays are over for another year and yet again a phenomenal Beer Festival on the August Bank Holiday! All four ales ,themed on Myths and Legends (well done again Ystwyth Ales!) were devoured in record time of on sale for less than 24 hours! We think maybe more for our 10th anniversary bash next year?! Instead of our regular 2 different ciders, we had 2 of the local Pen Feidre Ciders, made with Llanfallteg, Login and Llandissilio apples, truly scrumptious! The sun has stayed out for most of the hols with only a few showers to keep the garden looking good. Planning is well underway for the winter festivities, so watch this space for all the latest news...

Launch of a New Era (well Menu!)

After months of planning it has finally happened... We have this week launched our new menu! A fantastic service was had with lots of bums on seats and lots of full tummies, especially the Black forest Mess, that went down a treat! The new menu is versatile, suiting different requirements from the kids having child sized food but not all "brown" food as we believe that they are just as important, to the Gluten Free as we have found in recent times this more prolific in diners and we can guarantee that we are operating safe practices in the kitchen to prevent cross contamination.
Well its almost another day and prep is underway for what hopefully is another great evening.

They drank the pub dry!...

What a fantastic weekend that was, the Beer Festival was a HIT! With 5 ales and 3 ciders, by the Monday Evening... it was all gone! On the Saturday, we had a great turn out as usual and thanks to the melodic draw of "Jorden"'s voice more and more flocked in to see what was occurring. Fun antics continued until very late that evening. Sunday started a bit slow, but we assumed it was the sore heads from the night before. With some spontaneous guitar playing from Albi and Sam, the night was in full swing when landlord Steve hit the "ivories" and it turned into a jolly ol' sing-a-long! We would like to thank everyone that came and we look forward to seeing you all again on the 24th/25th August to do it all again.

Beer Festival 25- 26th May 2013

Well that time has arrived.. Beer Festival time! We have arranged some fantastic beers and ciders, a pig roast, the bouncy castle for the kids (and the big kids!) and some entertainment on both days, the only thing we have tried to book in the good weather, but "" doesn't seem to work! Look forward to seeing you all there!

"Design a Pizza" Competition

Well, what a success! With plenty of entrants we finally selected the Top 5 finalists. With the ovens at the ready on Saturday 2nd March we had the cook off, many turned up for support, interest and to taste some really different pizzas, from reggae reggae sauce, BBQ beef ( not horse! ) and Salmon! Not all on the same pizza, that would be very interesting indeed. We allowed the public to decide, as they are the audience that would be eating them! They all feasted on the different pizzas with only the look, smell, taste and the given name to go on, not knowing the creators names. After they had wolfed them all down, they put pen to paper to choose their winner. The overall favorite and ultimate winner with 6 votes was WILLIAM FIELD with his creation "JAMMIN' "

This Jammin' Pizza will now be featured on our menu as a regular choice with its Jamaican Flare! So when you fancy a trip with a caribbean feel then please come and try this delight of a pizza sending your taste buds wild!

Start to 2013

2013 has started and our plans for this year are well underway, but first some congratulations and thanks are in order!
A big thank you for everyone who turned out to watch our 5th Firework display which was our biggest yet with some really great fireworks and not too much rain! Cheers to Graham for his beacons and Tom for marshalling and collecting money once again.
Well done to Alan Harries for winning the Turkey Shoot, 2nd year in a row and only the 2nd person to win more than once since we have been at the Plash.
We had a fantastic turn out to the Christmas Quiz with 12 teams taking part! Congratulations to The Travellers!
The Carol Night took on a different look with Goodwick Brass Band playing some excellent carols in the pub, which along with Reg on the piano made for a brilliant night, so thank you to Reg and the band for making it a really special festive event.
Onwards and upwards, we are now looking forward to the Six Nations, Beer Fests, Fun Quizzes, Easter Egg Hunt and some sunshine. We are also running a "Design A Pizza" Competition through our website and Facebook page with a chance to win a years supply of pizzas!!
